Do I have to sign a contract?

 

No.

We have 2 plans available, the Unlimited Domestic Calling, which is $29 per month, if you no longer need our service, you simply do not pay for the next month.

And the Pay As You Go Plan, if you no longer need our service, simply contact our Customer Service at 606-575-3236 or e-mail us at clients@stayintouchcalls.com and we will promptly refund all of the unused funds on your account.

 

Are there any additional charges I have to pay?

 

No.  No taxes or hidden fees.

We require a one time $10 account activation fee for each plan. This is a non refundable $10 fee.   

For the Pay As You Go Plan, we require a minimum $15 opening balance.  For 1 number this would be $27 to open an account, for 2 numbers it would be $28.

All of our numbers are purchased for 1 month when you open your account, and each month we have to pay fees and taxes for each number to maintain them, even if they are not used to make a call that month.

 

What happens if the jail or facility says my inmate cannot use the number you give me?

 

If this happens, we will issue you a refund, or issue you a new number.

What happens if my inmate transfers to a new place?

Just let us know and we will issue a new number free of charge as part of our service.

How do I know what my account balance is?

Easy.  Click on the My Account tab, log into your account and you can:

-Check call history and balance online.

-Not worry account balance with automatic recharge option at $2, then you set the amount to recharge, change it anytime you wish to any amount.

-Automatic text/e-mail notification of recharge and account balance.

-Free On-line Account Management and account recharge, worldwide login.

How do I place an order over the phone?

Call (606) 575-3236 7am till 11pm EST, 7 days a week.

How will your service save me money?

Our service finds the lowest rates possible for the facility, passing this on to you resulting in savings up to 85% on each 15 or 20 minute phone call.

In which jails or facilities can you save me money?

Any parish or county jail; state or federal prison; ICE Detention Facilities; all military detention/regional confinement facilities; Naval/Marine Corps brigs.

Will signing up affect my current phone number, bill or service?

No. Our service works with all phone plans (cell phone or landline) and providers currently on the market today and will not change your current bill, service or phone number.

Can your service be used to call internationally from a U.S. jail or prison?

Yes. We offer a worldwide international calling service for you to stay in touch.

You do not have to be in the United States to use our service; you just need access to a phone.

Our low rates can save you up to 85% on every call internationally.

Why do I still have to pay the jail or facility for phone calls?

The jail or facility’s phone service provider owns the phone used to make the phone call. We cannot replace the jail or facility service provider.

If the inmate wants to make a call, the jail or facility require the inmate to maintain a phone account of some type with the jail or facility; either a prepaid phone account or a debit telephone account, a commissary or canteen debit phone account, inmate calling card or some allow purchasing phone credits.

Our service finds the lowest rate possible for the facility. The alternative is to make collect calls, which is very costly.

How many numbers can I get and how much do they cost?

The first number cost $2 per month; each additional number is $1 per month for our Pay As You Go Plan.

Our Unlimited Domestic Calling Plan only allows (and includes) 1 phone number.

3 numbers would be $4 per month, you may order up to 20 numbers, 1 for each friend or family member the inmate needs to call.

Upon account sign up, you will be charged for each number ordered; this is a recurring fee on the monthly anniversary date of the account opening.  (i.e.,  Aug 9th, Sep 9th, Oct 9th. . . )

Do you have a referral program?

Yes. We offer $15 for every referral, 1 a day or 1 a month, no limit on the number of referrals.

Why no limit on referrals? We know that being out of touch can be devastating, so we offer this program as a way to help offset the cost of incarceration. $15 will be credited to your StayInTouchCalls account when a new member has used your referral code at sign up.

You may use your account number as your referral code to give people to use at sign up. Give it to them in visitation, or whenever you can; help them save money too.

What happens if the facility blocks my calls?

If a correctional facility denies use of any service offered by StayInTouchcalls, it is the responsibility of subscriber to file a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission against said correctional facility as well as a complaint to that state public utilities/service commission. The Subscriber should site the Telecom Act of 1996 setion 47 USCS 253(a) which gives subscriber the RIGHT to use the telecommunications company of their choice for service.

Under this Order, blocking is not authorized regardless of the jurisdiction (location) of the number being blocked – whether the number is a local number or a non-local number to the correctional facility.  (Footnote 58)
